Horry Barnes Memorial 2026

The Horry Barnes Memorial meeting on Sunday 11th October at Skegness Raceway has seen a significant increase in prize money on offer courtesy of a large group of meeting sponsors that have been put together by Horry’s Grandson Harry Barnes.
It promises to be a fantastic day when the sport remembers the much loved Horry and acknowledges his amazing racing career which covered an astonishing 54 years and his wonderful legacy is still very much part of today's Saloon Stock car scene with Numerous Grandson's and Great Grandson's actively racing. Skegness Raceway would like to thank the following for their valuable support for the day and everyone's contribution, no matter how big , is very much appreciated.

The Horry Barnes Memorial final , and we must mention Kevin Bruce at this point as it was his very generous donation that he insisted went entirely to the winner, will see the winner receive an amazing £1000!

As is tradition at Skegness courtesy of our good friends at Owens Horseboxes the first white top and the first yellow top home in the final will receive £50 each.

For the heat races the prize money for 4th place to 8th place inclusive will remain as standard but for the first 3 in the heats they will receive
Winner £75
Second £40
Third £25
In addition to this the leader at the end of every lap in the 16 lap heats will receive £5 for each lap lead.

Skegness Raceway thank everyone involved who has helped put all of this together and it promises to be a fitting tribute to the sorely missed Horry.

In addition to the Horry Barnes Memorial it is also the Last Skegness Saloon Stock Car meeting of 2026 and the track Championship is still very much up for grabs with £500 for the winner, £200 for second and £100 for third.  Aaron Totham currently leads the way with a 20 point lead over Brad Compton Sage with Ryan Santry a further 10 points behind. Although Aaron is guaranteed a top 3 finish in the track Championship as 4th place is too far behind, second and third are very much open for a challenge from the Chasing pack as 40 points are available and the driver as low as 16th in the points is 39 points behind second placed Brad so it's all to play for. The full track Championship standings can be found on the Saloon Stock Car association website in the points section.

Skegness Raceway politely ask that Drivers book in as soon as possible please with Skegness booking officer Kevin Wickham so plans can be made regarding the Race formats.
Skegness thank everyone for their support in 2026 and look forward to seeing everyone for their Saloon Stock Car season Finale on Sunday 11th October, 12 Noon start.
