JACK DAIN MEMORIAL MEETING

After the success of the Chris Murfin memorial meeting, the next Saloon Stock Car meeting at Skegness Raceway will see something very special take place to honour the late Jack 'The Rat' Dain. Skegness has previously been honoured to stage the Jack Dain trophy meeting but very sadly it will this year be the Jack Dain Memorial following his quite recent passing and our thoughts are very much with his family and friends for their loss.

As part of the day, Skegness Raceway are very excited to say that three Absolute Legends of East Anglian Saloon Stock Cars will be taking the track for a special 'match race' in memory of Jack and all three of them owe a great deal of their success to Jack and his wonderful mechanical knowledge.

Skegness Raceway are very proud to say that (126) Willie Barnes, (590) John Halifax and ( 636) Conrad Self will once again grace the Skegness Raceway and all in Talbot Saloons that date back to the 1990s. A mouth-watering prospect to say the least and will certainly bring back fond memories for long standing fans of Saloon Stock Cars, as well as giving today's generation the chance of seeing these true Legends putting these Old school cars through their paces.

A lot of work is going on behind the scenes, in particular by Conrad Self, to put together a substantial prize money for the meeting and at this time we can confirm that the Memorial final will be sponsored by Thetford Autoparts, with significantly increased money for the top three as well as lap leader money.

With what has been donated so far, the prize fund will be just as good as the Chris Murfin meeting (for which we are most grateful for everyone's support) , but it actually looks like this could be even better and once again we plan to run four Saloon Stock Car races.

The sponsors on board so far are

THETFORD AUTOPARTS

DOLPHIN EXECUTIVE TRAVEL

PSH ENVIRONMENTAL

MMP SCRAP CAR COLLECTION

ANNIE'S HARDWARE and DIY STORE

IAN ROBERTSON

OWENS HORSEBOXES

Skegness Raceway thank them all for their valuable support and will bring you all the details in due course. There will be grade awards either on the final results or top points scorers over the meeting, or even both. Some of these awards will be in the form of vouchers, new tyres and possibly prize money as well.

It's all building up nicely to what promises to be a great day of Saloon Stock Car action featuring both the Past and Present day drivers and Bank Holiday Monday 25th May is definitely a date for the diary. More details soon on www.skegway.info
