While there will be no Saloon Stock Car World Championship (nor any other Championship or World Ranking event) in 2020, unloaded 7.3 World Rankings will continue to be calculated and published on a monthly basis according to the existing method. Their primary purposes are to determine the 24 UK drivers who will qualify automatically for the 2021 World Championship Final and also, for grading purposes, ensure that any driver in the Top 24 of the World Rankings has a minimum grade of Blue.

World Ranking points will be scored from attendance and performance at Championship and World Ranking events in 2019 and 2021, from Track Championship standings in the whole 2020 season, from Late Season Track Championship standings in 2019 and, from May next year, 2021 Track Championship standings.

To summarise, by the time of the anticipated cut-off point for the 2021 World Championship, the following elements will combine to result in each driver’s World Rankings score.
Attendance and performance at Championship and World Ranking events from 2019  which have yet to influence a World Championship grid (World, Scottish, ORC, UK Superbowl and World of Shale)
Attendance and performance at Championship and World Ranking events from 2021 – as is usual
Late Season Track Championship standings in 2019 – as these have yet to influence a World Championship grid
Track Championship standings in the 2020 season – as that was the intention when the 2020 season began
Track Championship standings in the 2021 season – as is usual
