1. CARS & BODIES
The SSCA wish to clarify the requirement for the use of original bodyshell 150mm below window aperture. This is a strongly recommended guideline.

It is not the intention that existing cars which already have the correct window apertures etc, have to make wholesale changes, as the majority of cars are correct.

This rule is to ensure drivers are:
- not altering the original silouhette of the bodyshell
- not moving the B pillar
- not dispensing with roof pillars of the car to leave roll cage exposed

If your car follows the original silouhette but doesn't have, for example, the original door handle indent/tops of doors, and you have used non-original tin from the lower window aperture down, you are not expected to change anything.

However if you are buidling a new car, or re-panelling an existing car, the SSCA strongly recommends you use as much original panelwork, as possible, and this should include, boot, bonnet, roof and doors down to the door handle area and tops of wings. Should these body panels get damaged whilst racing, then they may be patched or repaired using non original tin if absolutely necessary, but with the emphasis on retaining the original silhouette.

A maximum weight of 1300kg will be introduced.

The car (excluding driver) will be required AT ANY TIME to record a maximum inside weight of 55%.
The car must be race ready when this is recorded.

Having weighed around 70 cars over the last month of the season, the average inside weight is 53.8%. The SSCA therefore feel that a 55% maximum is generous. Over the course of 2009, serious concerns have been raised about cars which have compromised on strength and safety, by shifting weight to the inside. Whilst there is work involved to correct this, the association, has to take a responsible view that in a contact formula such as this, a deliberately weakened passenger side is not acceptable. Some obvious ways to achieve the inside weight rule will be moving the fuel tanks to the centre line of the car (which is mandatory), moving batterys to the passenger side of the gearbox tunnel and changing offset wheels.

3. SUSPENSION
All cars must achieve a minimum ground clearance at all times, between the front and rear wheels, of 75mm. This will be checked by rolling a pipe under the car from front wheels to rear wheels.

Each car will be permitted one standard strut/shock absorber, for each wheel/corner of the car. No extra shock absorbers permitted EXCEPT THE Avo F2 style shock absorber to be retained on the near side front.

WHEELBASE
Outside lead of 2" only permitted. The maximum camber permitted on the passenger side front wheel is 15 degrees. No wheels are allowed to protrude beyond the outer most edge of the car (this does not including the 3" permitted bumper addition or wheel guard). The rear wheels are permitted negative camber, but no positive camber.

FRONT
Driver’s side front strut top must be mounted in as near to original position as possible.
Passenger side front strut top mounting is permitted a 50mm tolerance, back or forward. You may move the strut top in towards the engine to achieve camber, but to a maximum of 15 degrees on the wheel. Strut top measurements maybe checked by taking a measurement from the front face of the pulley on the engine.

Lower Arm Mounting
Driver’s side lower arm mounting must be mounted in as near to original position as possible (as a guide lower arm mountings on a Sierra are in the centre of the wheel).
Both the driver’s side and passenger side must be mounted the same height from the ground when the car is level. However, you may locate the mountings closer to the wheel or engine accordingly. You may mount the passenger side arm up to 25mm further forward.

The retaining lug on front struts maybe removed to allow struts to be swapped between driver and passenger side, on the front of the car. However the strut must be mounted in its original position on the lower arm, and must not protrude through the mounting point any further than if the retaining lug was used.

REAR
Multi hole adjustment IS PERMITTED on rear wishbone mountings, but only to ensure that all pickup points are the same height from the ground on both sides of the car, when the car is level. The rear wheels are permitted negative camber, but no positive camber.

11. TYRES
The Avon 7.3 tyre will remain as the principal tyre for 2010, but no Avon Slick Tyres permitted for use after 1 May 2010. Details regarding softener to be advised.
The Saloon Stock Car Association are still currently testing tyres with a view to additional tyre options for 2010, and a possible tyre change for 2011.
The Yokohama A048 will not be acceptable as a "starter" tyre for White/Yellow grade drivers.

16. FUEL SYSTEM
All fuel lines must be clipped securely, and routed away from electrics i.e. if a fuel line runs along the inside edge of the chassis rail, you may run the electrics along with outside edge of the rail, as a minimum.
The fuel tank, with a maximum 2 gallon capacity, is to be positioned along the centre line of the car, and on top of the chassis, in the rear seat/boot area.
The fitting of a non-return valve will be compulsory.
